| | Yesterday I came back from visiting my brother's family. As you might remember, my SIL had a baby on June 3rd, and I am now an aunt!
I got to see her face-to-face on June 20, 2009. My brother was taking a video of our first encounter, and it is pretty funny watching it. I started washing my hands (because, well, that is what I do when I come home from the outside - plus, I had been in a plane for about an hour). I proceeded to even scrub up to my elbows because well, that is sometimes what I do when I will be holding a newborn. But that didn't last long because well, everyone (me included) wanted me to see the baby for the first time.
She is such a beautiful baby girl! Soft, black hair. So alert when awake! Has a very cute sleeping position, like when she was in utero. Has the cutest facial expressions.
I even got to carry her in the Moby wrap a week ago. In case you didn't know, I love babywearing and have been "wearing" babies since the age of 7. It is a great way to carry your baby, have them close to you, and you are able to get chores done around the house while carrying your baby in this manner. It is nice when you go out because you don't have to bring a stroller or even a car seat when you go to church, a restaurant, etc. And some other reasons - check out the link if you are interested.
Baby A is pretty petite, but her family members say she is growing! Even her parents think she will be going to cloth diapers full time very soon. Auntie got to help out a bit with diaper changes and holding the baby when mommy had to do something.
On Friday, we went to Sweet Tomatoes for lunch (yum), and then Babies 'R Us to look around and buy a 2nd car seat. I think I like that store even more than a book store now (shockers). When we came home, we watched Cinderella in French, and she was asleep for pretty much the whole movie - in my arms.  I miss giving her kisses and stroking her soft, black hair. Her parents are very blessed to have such a sweet little girl!!
